Does anyone know if blended fuel causes more regens?

Thanks!

The short answer is yes

The long answer is
I don't think you notice it at b5 level. Also it depends a bit on what the bio was made from and the quality of bio diesel.

A more complete answer is that when you run Bio at the B20 (or higher level) you get LESS regens because bio doesn't produce as much soot. However, you will burn more DEF because running bio causes you to produce more NOX. You will also need to change your oil a little more often because you get more fuel dilution in the oil. The manual covers the oil change interval part.

The top part is what I personally noticed when I ran Bio in my 2011 - even though I didn't test the oil I never "made oil." I can't run it in my 2015 as it gets too cold where I live now. We don't even have ethanol in the fuel. In the 2011 I had, I ran as high as B99, but I usually tried to stick with the B20 level. Personal opinion, if you idle a lot I would try not to run bio any higher than B5. As donovan sated at B5 you probably won't notice much of a difference.

don't forget the service intervals shorten when running bio.
