Well, it's not the bulb..or is it?

Hiya fellow Scorpion wranglers! Sooo, the turn signal went out on my rt rear corner. Two-filament bulb, so lights and brakes work, just not turn signal. Changed the bulb with new, and...still not working? Howzat? O sure, running lights and brake lights still work, just not the turn signal. Any ideas anyone?

Not sure what year your truck is, but the right rear running (Park) light is one filament. The other filament is for the right rear Turn, Stop (Brake), hazard lights and it also activates the trailer tow relay for the right turn, stop and hazard for the trailer. So if your brake and hazard lights work, I'm guessing it is a problem in the BCM.

Make sure you have the correct bulb. Cross reference the number in the manual to the number on the bulb package to the number on the bulb. Had a similar problem in my Chevy and it turns out the bulbs were in the wrong package. Start simple.

1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed.

14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently.

7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs.

6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ...

Another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid.

2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp".

15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct.

19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a light bulb forum.

11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum.

36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty.

5 People to post pics of their own light bulbs.

15 People to post "I can't see S$%^!" and their own light bulbs.

7 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs.

4 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's.

13 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too".

LOL! But you forgot the 3 Dodge trolls who claim Dodge lamps/bulbs/engine/parking brake/Michelin tires are far superior to any thing Ford would send to the market place.

Yep, called a dealer before I got the replacement; 3157K is their part #, and it's' the same at Autozone. So, brand new, correct bulb, but still no turn signal. I hope it's something simple..

Did you try the hazard lights, this might verify that it is not the BCM. Depending on the year of your truck might help how to troubleshoot.

Nope, busted wire in the harness that runs across the top of the shock tower. At the dealer getting it fixed under warranty now.
