Not sure if i should post this here or in the Expedition forums, but here goes.
I'm trying to find out if I can use the block from an '04 Expedition (5.4 engine code 'L') in an '07 F-150. The problem is the '04 has a 2 valve head and the '07 is a 3 valve.
The Ford dealer told me to call the junkyard, the junkyard told me to call the dealer. Tried Ford Customer Service and they didnt know. Called a couple of parts stores and the best suggestion I got was tear it down and see...
The short blocks will interchange just as long as both has the same pistons. The 3v has flat top pistons and I think the 2v does too just not 100% sure.
