06 F-150 jump/jerk

I have a 06 f150 king ranch and I have had this issue before and had tran. rebuilt and motor work done for this and other issues. The jerking stopped for a while but now it is back!

The best way I can describe it is when I'm at a certain speed or have set the cruise, it feels as if it the overdrive has been pushed but it only last for a quick moment then it will continue to do this until I accelerate. Its not a steady jerk.

Anyone have any answers or similar issues? thanks

Do you think it could be a misfire caused by a bad coil pack causing it to feel like the trans

I have the same problem and I cant figure it out. changed coil pack on 5 cylinder because i had a misfire on number 5 and it fixed it for about a week and then started again. Mine also says it has bad cats but the guy tested them at the shop and said they were fine. mine seems to do it always around 50mph and or if get on it. I changed the fuel pump to and it fixed the jerk for about a week then started again idk what it is

I have the same problem. Only when in overdrive at low RPM's and when I lay into the throttle a little bit. I had my trans rebuilt a year ago and it started doing it after the rebuild. I took it back and they said it was an engine hesitation. Wasn't too bad so I have lived with it but now it is getting worse. I think it is the trans but I am not sure. Looking for answers. Thanks.

Its time for a tune up. The plug gap increases over time requiring more voltage to jump the gap. The coil can only put out so much but the spark has to go somewhere. It finds a weak point in the boot to plug seal and jumps it. This creates a small trail of carbon. Carbon is a conductor so now the spark has an alternate path to ground outside of the plug but its still easier to jump the gap most of the time so that's where it goes. When cruising in OD the PCM leans the mixture and advances the timing for best emissions and fuel economy. This makes it harder for the spark to jump the plug gap so it follows the carbon track. The track is on the boot and plug so just changing the coil will not fix it for long. Replace the spark plugs and any boots that show signs of tracking to repair the buck. The longer you wait the higher chance of damaging the cat converters.
