Hello all. Just picked up a 79 f350 4x4. All stock 400 c6 auto.Truck has air condition. I have a 16" electric fan from a 95 thunderbird that has the supercharged 3.8 v6, these cars run real hot around 210, or 220. The fan is 2 speed with its on shroud has 8 blades. The stock clutch fan is 18" with 7 blades. Just wondering if it will cool the old 400? Of course I,ll have to figure out how to mount it. Thanks for any advice.

 

Why yes! That fan will quickly overwhelm the OEM alternator so upgrade to a 130-amp alternator.

That fan will cool the 400 no problem.... It'll suck a cat flat to the grill.

HIO Silver - on those adaptors you made..they made the fan/radiator setup look like it came from the factory that way. i've never seen a clean setup like that..heck of an idea!
