1946 hood latch
I'm trying to reassemble the hood latch assembly on my half ton but haven't been able to find a good schematic of what the assembled system should look like. On top of that several parts are missing and I'm trying to track down used replacements. Does anyone have a schematic or picture of how the main latch (pull ring) attaches to the latch mechanism on the upper radiator shroud - is there a spring that holds the pull ring in position as the hood closes? Also, where does the auxiliary latch attach - on the shroud or grill nose piece? I have a rectangular hole in the screw flange of the shroud but the underside of the shroud and the back side of the nose are smooth with no indication of how the latch would be attached.
Finally, does anyone know where I can find a spare latch mech (the L-shaped bracket with rollers on the radiator shroud that attaches with 2 screws) or the auxilliary latch?

Gary, would you be able to send me the same pm? I have the exact same issues. Both of my 47s came with the hood off and most of that area dissassembled . The pickup seems to have all the pieces, but I will use them on the 2 ton, as the pickup will be next winter's fun and I'll have time to search for the missing parts. It certainly is a handsome hood latch setup. Maybe my favorite part of these trucks. Any info is needed, as my hood hinges are adrift as well, and it takes 3 bungee cords to hold it on drives.
