We will take the first 5 or 6 entries posted here to compete for the first ever Ohio Chapter Truck of the Month!! We will go until the weekend or six entries, whichever is first. We will vote next week!
Bought in May 1988, all stock 360/C6 with about 110K miles on it.
Installed American Racing CP200 rims and new tires that summer. This picture is around spring 1989(sorry, best pic I have of it currently). In 1990 I installed a 428CJ motor and 4spd. In all it has not changed much in the last 25 yrs, besides different rims/tires and the paint is just a bit more faded.
Awesome, our first-ever entry!!! I thought about putting a limit on how old the pics can be but figured no reason to do so as long as the truck is yours!! Looks awesome!!
"No longer around" as in you sold it or as in it got destroyed? I think if you sold it that should not be admissible (must be your truck). However, let's say it was your truck but it was totaled in an accident, that would probably be OK.
That's a good looking truck Larry, looks real clean.
Ok here's mine. Its nothing too special, but why not, and I love it. This is my first truck and first vehicle. I got it back in December of last year, after at least a good 4 months of looking. It was by far the cleanest one we looked at, and was luckily almost exactly what I would have wanted if could have picked. Since I wasn't being too picky with a first truck, just wanted one in good shape that ran good, with little to no rust. And this was it and in my price range.
It is a white, tan cloth interior, 2002 F250 CC SB XLT 7.3 Powerstroke diesel, with almost 272,000 miles on it, had a little under 270k when I got, as you can tell I don't put too many miles on it. It came with a 4in MBRP Exhaust, TS-6position chip, K&N intake, Glowshift Gauges: EGT, Boost, Trans Temp, small Lift, 285/75R16 Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac's on stock rims, Westin bull bar, 05+ Grille with billet insert, Painted Bushwacker Pocket Fender Flares, Chrome door handles and rockers accents.
Only thing I've added so far is tan WeatherTech floor mats. Should be adding a head unit soon, so I can use my Ipod and because on the factory unit the volume *** is messed up it'll do all kinds of different things and is friggen annoying. It also has 2 8" subs and aftermarket door speakers, all with separate amps. So that's it so far, but I've got a lot plans for it, that I'll hopefully be able to get a start on soon. Its been running great so far, except for a cold start issue that I solved a while back, and I have been hearing a knocking sound intermittently, lately, but doesn't seem to be anything too major, hopefully just an injector. Which hopefully I can get figured out soon. Other than its been great, hope you guys like it.
How about my '95 F150. 302/aode/3.31 gears. Smooth, good running truck, 80K miles. Really super clean too. This was 2009. I bought this truck to replace my Escort that had finally given up the ghost.
Sorry, that is all the good pics I have. I only had it about 7 months, til this happened:
Woman ran a red light at 45 mph and took me out. Totalled it.
Man, do I miss that truck
Last chance... If you want your truck to be considered for April TOTM, you have until Monday evening. I'd like to select an exact time but it really depends on when I can get free time to lock this down and start the vote thread.
1978 F-250 with a 300-6 and a 4 speed. 40,XXX on the odometer.
I bought this truck at a farm auction when i was 15. The farmer that owned it was the original owner, and he told me all he did was haul feed and one cow with it. He had a station wagon for all his other driving. This was supposed to be my daily driver in high school, but when I started to work on it, it became clear this was gonna be a long project. The farmer took a paint brush to every scratch it had with whatever red paint he had, so I decided to repaint it.
When it came home...
Off with the bed to clean the frame up...
Fast forward 3 years and I decided to pay a bodyshop to finish it so I could enjoy it.
OK, let's lock it down right there!! We have four entries for the Ohio Chapter Truck of the Month for April 2014. No more entries will be accepted. Please keep in mind we are only a few weeks away from accepting the May TOTM entries, though!!
I should have time tonight to set up a voting pole. I will link to the same photos you guys did who entered and we can begin a vote!! Good luck, gentlemen!!
