Given that the Ranger is purpose-built to be a light-duty, 1/4-ton truck, I don't see where any chip on any of the engines offered would offer much of a performance increase.
I've never heard of a GE chip. Is this an item off eBay? Many of those are scams (do-nothing chips).
I had a Jet chip in my Ranger once. All it did was advance the timing at WOT and raise the redline about 500 RPM. Not worth the money, in my opinion, since it was only detectable at WOT which didn't happen very often. Finally took it out and got a Bama tune which is much better.
To quote: "The GF module installs into your FORD RANGER's engine bay and is connected via 2 wires that plug into the IAT sensor."
Sounds like (I'm guessing) it fools the computer into richening the mixture by diddling with the Intake Air Temperature sensor's signal. It might get a little power, but that sure wouldn't increase the gas mileage. And if it is richening the mixture, there's the possibility to overheat the catalytic converter.
Color me extremely skeptical. I sure wouldn't put it on my truck.
