expedition major skip and hard starting
sometimes it cranks and wont start right off no matter how long i crank it.if i turn the key off and then try again it will start.not all the time does it do this.sometimes it starts fine..
ok and now it has a bad skip but no engine light on except egr flow.took the tb off and the 2 egr ports in the tb were blocked.I cleaned it out and installed it back on and now it seems to skip even worse to the point where it will not move.
could this be a head gasket problem?there no smoke coming from the exhaust but there is alittle water condensation.
any help would be great.thanks

no codes.
2. When you reinstalled the intake, did you reuse the gasket or use a new one?
3. Have you done a compression test yet?
One day good, one day bad and no MIL. Could be the IAT sensor. Often, and it's happened to me, the IAT sensor fails with a valid reading. This should tell the ECU what the intake air temperature is so that it can adjust the fuel mix. These can fail with a "good" value as far as the ECU is concerned, but it can be the "wrong" value. Failing with a high temp on a cold day will cause starting problems.
The best way to examine this is with a realtime scan tool which can monitor the sensors. If it's 35 degrees out and the IAT reads 75 degrees, that's probably your culprit.
Around $20 and about 5-10 mins to change.
