Okay, so what I have is a set of wheels that were not well taken care of by the previous owner. I would like to make them look a little better some time. So, what I am looking at is the clear is flaking off from the weights that were there over time and the salt and crap came through.
So, what has been done out there?
My truck is a truck and the new bling of wheels is not needed.
My wheels were in really good shape but wanted something different. I found a set of trashed originals and refinished them. I used the Duplicolor wheel paint in Graphite and then clear coated them. I felt it was worth the work since the original wheels are light and strong and I didn't need a larger wheel/tire combo.
I was just thinking about the same thing yesterday after I picked up a new grinder.. Thinking on glossy black instead of the chrome though.. not sure..
I am planning on getting my wheels powder coated because of previous abuse and am prepared to spend more money than the do it yourself jobs, both of which look great.

I'd call my local Line-X dealer and see what they could do... My local dealer coat anything you take to him and recently told me he does more boats and parts these days then truck beds.
