How many rear leafs in '42-'47 PU's?

reason I asked I bolted up a rear fender (never had them on since I bought the truck in pieces) and there's a good 8-10 inches between the top of the tire and bottom of the fender.

From other "original" side pics I've seen of these trucks, mine is much higher.

I counted 16 leafs in the rear spring pack...I'm wondering if someone in the past added some, or put on some from something else?

Thanks

I only have 10 leaves on my 46 1/2 ton.

I removed the overloads.... Don't remember how many leaves were there. Hope this helps!

I have 13 on my 1-ton, however I will remove a couple as there is some cracked ones near the bottom. Almost wonder if you have a 1-1/2 ton or 2 ton, the larger trucks I see around here have about that many. A pic would be handy to make a good determination.

Thanks Stella,

No, for sure a 1/2 ton...I think that someone swapped them out in the past.
I put in a set I had from an F1, seems to have gotten back to stock ride height.

Below are before and after the swap.
