Long story, but my 03 Excursion (6L Diesel) used to belong to my ex-wife. It was in need of numerous repairs -- far more than she could afford -- so I gave her my Suburban, took the Ex off her hands, started making the repairs myself (with expert assistance when needed) with the goal of selling it ASAP. Every time I get ready to list it, something else breaks. By the time I'm done, I'll have rebuilt the b@st@rd from stern to bow. Looking back, I wish I had just scrapped it. What a POS ...
It's a shame you had such a bad experience, and knowing these trucks I can almost certainly say that most of these issues were caused by the previous lack of proper maintenance, well, anyway, welcome to FTE!, go to this chapter to meet other Excursion owners: Excursion - King of SUVs - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums they'll help you out.
Many thanks. And I agree .. it would have stayed rock steady had it been properly maintained. And by the time I'm done, it will be a great truck again. Just wasn't expecting it to be this much .... But I'm grateful for the guidance here, for sure. - c
booesq i too am a chevy man trapped in a ford body 78 f100 but dont give up on it my truck has the 300 i6 in it and everyone tells me its one of the best motors ever made if not the best so i keep telling myself that when i get it right it will be well worth it.but i understand .my truck stays park way more than i drive it.battery, lights, carb, brakes, tune up,still need new tires, and exhaust leak and a rusty bed but when im driving it i cant stop smiling.ive got alot of great help from this forum i think you,ll be glad you found your way here
Welcome aboard!!!!!
Bummer on the eXperience your having. Pretty solid units maintained IMHO.
I'm invested in mine knowing full well the rewards long term will be well worth the time and energy put into it.
I had a Chevy Blazer that I got caught in. I finally had to cut my losses & gave it to a buddy. That think almost broke me. So I know the feeling. I still have nightmares over that Chevy.
Personally GMs have been the most costly to me. But I have had some Fords I wish I might of done things different.
