292 alternator?
The alternator mount/bracket on my 64' f250 4wd 292 was Mickey moused and I would like it to be a little more stock any body have a pix to help out
Next ? I have an alternator off a 65' will that work with a 64' voltage regulator or should I use 65' reg
I think the wiring is the same?

If not sure the pulleys are correct for the 292 application then may be able to run a search on the crank and water pump pulley to determine if correct. May need to go from single to multiple groove pulley. Had similar problem and found the crank pulley salvage from the bone yard did not match the water pump pulley. If able to get the P/N off both should be able to find the matching pulley for the 292. In my case I did not have a clue so I went to Ebay and ran a search with the particular P/N and read the item description and found the water pump was correct for the engine but the crank was not. Found a seller, m. Goodson, and email where he provided a list of options and if he did not have the item on auction he could list the item(s) on ebay for me to purchase. For $20 fixed the problem of aligning the belts. If the alt., and or, brackets have been modified or altered then finding a solution for aligning the belts can become problematic??

If you use a truck pulley on a car pump, it would put the groove about 1/4" farther back, if it mounted at all. The pilot hole will also be larger on the truck pulley than the pilot on the car shaft.
If they are matching components, then there should be no misalignment, and you will need to investigate further for the cause.
You might knock that burr off the alternator pulley to avoid possible problems.

Did not notice the burr on the alternator pulley
