we got taken for a ride

my wife and i bought a pretty nice 2000 expedition xlt 5.4 black/gray ... runs good, probably needs wheel ballancing.. its got 144k, we got from a mechanic so i figured it was good to go...he said it recently passed smog perfectly..
we got the truck home... and 4 hours after we got it.. passanger brakelight is dead..socet and bulb are fine..fuse? impossible to find it.. controls on rearview mirror out.. overhead clock? is dead..very weak idle..

With things popping up this quickly, I'd go back to this guy and raise hell before trying to fix anything.

In the fuse box under the dash check fuses: 6, 15, & 23.

In the fuse box under the hood check fuse: 23.

If those fuses are good then you're stuck hunting down a problem in the wiring harness.
