At first when you said you bought it for the front sheet metal I thought, "Dang, that looks like too nice of a truck to part out", but once I saw the cab pictures I think you're doing the right thing. I really like that front seat, worth the price right there.
Kind of odd for the front sheet metal to not have the usual rust but have serious rust in the cab. I don't see the roof section filled with a mouse nest etc to cause that kind of rust.
yes i found it very weird that the front fenders are almost rust free. The drivers is just starting to rust a bit and the running boards all almost perfect but the cab is toast....as are the bed cross members.
do you guys know why that is mice I bought an old truck the same way most all the rust was in the cab the mice get up there and **** and **** and all the stuff accelerates the rusting process nice find tho
