Like lots of people here, I love my AE. And have the very typical 3 issopro or other nice name brand gauges. However, I'd like to see more things as I drive. That's why I was considering buying a scan gauge 2. I'm so glad that I did not rush into it before I run into Dashboss. It's pretty much an AE on your iPhone iPod or iPad without the on board testing capacity. It has nice display and graphics, data recording and play back and it's only around $150. There are 2 thread dedicated to it in the 6.0 forum. There is no mentioning of it here. Why? Erwin
I just put an Edge Insight on my 7.3 and love it. The reason I decided on this is because it aloud me to put a turbo time on and also it is expandable for future thing. It was a little pricey but I figure I am keeping this truck for a long time.
Dashboss looks interesting. I've found that some of the most useful gauges on SGII are the one that have to be programmed (x-gauges). Personally I'd want to be sure stuff like ICP, IPR, EOT, trans temp, and EBP would display before purchasing Dashboss.
If you don't have apple you have the luxury of being able to use the wireless apps like torque pro. Those don't work with apple so the developers have to make apps/interface for apple that use bluetooth like this does.
Dear DP friend who posted in my tread before,
Does the Infinity DX ($600) already included all the hardware one would need to do F6 like programming plus the added funcy monitoring? The only extra cost is the tunes? Please explain. If this is true, I 'm willing to eat Ramen for the rest of the year to get it. Thx. Erwin
Dear DP friend who posted in my tread before,

I've been there done that with Ramen and Hamburger helper. I wouldn't want you to have to do that.
The INFINITY has email tunes update capability just like F6 with the FEPS cable. The Infinity Preloaded version has everything you need except the EGT probe. That would be extra.
Here is a video of how the Infinity works. Watch this video it outlines everything you get with the Infinity.
Let me know if you have anymore questions.

So, $662 for all the hardware needed including the "email" cable. That's about $200 more than a blank f6 with switches. That's not bad. I would have spent $450 for the f6, then at least $150 for a Scangauge kind of thing. That's already $600. I'll seriously think about it. Hopefully someone who already got one can start a thread your experience with the system. Or, maybe DP can provide some test units to select members here to educate us. Just a thought. Erwin
Ok, I just find a thread started by our dear Tugly on this subject in Octoberlast year. You impressed me one more time, where there is new technology, there is Tugly. Well, I'm going back to that thread and finish my reading. Erwin
Diane, at DP. Afew more questions after 4 hours of reading
1. Now I understand that the new Infinity is a programmer. For those who already have either the F5 or F6, they can do the “touch on the fly” change of tunes. For the people who are still on the fence trying to decide what to invest, wouldn’t you agree that you should try to make it more than a “do everything programmer”, like adding a small chip (small or equal to the F5, without the switching hardware) to the ECU. That way, one can accumulate tunes in their SD chip on the Infinity. Decide which tunes they use most often, then tell the Infinity to push those tunes to the chip then they become switchable. I assume that you might be able to make such simplified chip (compared to F5 with switch) cheaper, like under $100. This way, guys like me can buy a whole system (Infinity programmer with a chip to give it a “on the go”) for $560 plus the cost of additional chip. Has such an option ever been considered during the Infinity development. I think that it makes a lot business sense (not trying to tell you how to run your business). No matter how wonderful you made the Infinity (it surely looks like), to guys here, it’s a programmer, not a switchable chip. It could’ve been achieved by a rather small additional investment in the RD, in my opinion. Of course, who am I to judge. However, the market will judge. 2. As it stands now, are the tunes one bought for the chips and for the Infinity all interchangeable?
That would be wonderful, but we cant do the programming that way currently. The switch hub for the chips is for all chips out there not just the F5 and F6. Our contract for the Infinity only allows Jody's tuning on the Infinity sd card. the makeup of the Infinity doesn't allow burning to a j3 chip. It is only OBDII.
A great idea and if there is ever a Gen 2 we will definitely give them that info as a future feature. It may work or they may not want it. You never know.
