i started to replace a broke canceling cam and got called away in the middle of it. there are two short metal pieces that got knocked out. they go under the cam itself.
does anyone have a photo of this area??
i put them where i thought they went, but now signals won't work.
They stack on edge pointing up and down, to the right of the pivot and just left of the cancelling ring. They act like return springs to hold the turn signal in the neutral position.
Hope this helps.
Greg
Yes, The spring metal pieces lay on edge in between the cam & the base with the two nubs on each end causing the click and hold.
No, you can test the cam without the wheel on.'
I bought a cam from the help line section at the local parts store. I was able to get working, but only the front signals on the drivers side would light, passenger side clicked ,but no lights.
I tried adjusting the contact wires, but no luck
I removed the new HELP line cam (it never did lock in on the right signal) and replaced it with the old. Now it works again >
Dennis, I didn't try just one metal piece. I removed the new one and replaced it w/ the old unit.
My kids where wanting to drive it and I gave up on the HELP piece, I will try and later
