As some of you know I have been on the hunt for an OE heater for my '50 F-2 since I got it "heaterless" over a year ago. I found lots of junk being sold out there (see example from eBay) but they are rare as as this design was only used for two model years as critical components were put in the abrasive and corrosive RF fender well. Finding good parts was difficult as trucks that are relatively rust free are in the warmer climates and were not normally equipped with the optional heater. So those equipped with heaters were in the rust belt and those outside of the rust belt had no heaters.
Thanks to several of you and "firstrider" in particular over the past year I had finally managed to gather almost all the stock OE heater parts. And a couple weeks ago after a tip from Denny I finally obtained a good heater blower plenum. On disassembly I checked out the motor that was in it. Despite all the crud on the outside from years of use in the RF fender well I found that it worked fine, but it was 6v and my truck is now 12v. So I started looking for a source for 12v blowers. There were lots of good recommendations here on FTE for everything by '49-'50. And the normal parts houses had nothing that I could find either,
But a Google search revealed a company (A Parts Warehouse) right here in Michigan that specializes in school bus parts. They show that they carry a large variety of blower motors. I found one (GR-157) that looked like it might work so I called them Monday. Christine was most helpful, wasn't put off by my unusual request and actually pulled one off the shelf and measured it. Their shipping was very prompt and it arrived today and it fits. It is a two speed versus a single speed but that should not be a problem.
I'm not sure Ilya as nothing there is listed for our trucks. You can take your measurements and check A Parts Warehouse to get close. Then you can call Christine and she can check the actual part. I think that it is a 1/4" shaft vs 5/16 on 49=50?
Also I thought that I saw on here where 1970-77 Maverick/Comet motors fit? PM firstrider as he may know for sure. I think he said Sacramento Village Ford part 8301-CW.
