Rims and tires..... Issues

It's time for new rubber on the X and the PO had put 20" rims on it. We have a camper that we pull which means (I think, correct me if I'm wrong) that I need E rated tires. Well the cheapest e rated tires for that rim size that I can find is $1900!!! (nitto terra grapplers). No way I'm paying that much every time we need new tires. So I'm going to end up changing the rims to 16"s (stock) or maybe 18"s if I can find a good deal on e rated.

What have some of you fellow camper towers found to be a good matchup?

Find some Superduty take-offs on Craigslist. I've seen brand new rims/tires go for $600-1000

Just remember that you'll need 2" spacers if you find 05-12 rims.

Yeah I thought about that, I do like those rims a lot! I found some on fleabay for $699. Will the 2" spacers extend the tires beyond the flare fender?

As far as stock ....

1. You can go with the OEM 16" rims which do not require spacers and get the appropriate rated tires.

2. Another option is the only OEM 18" rim that will fit the Excursion and get the proper tire for it also. They are a bit hard to find.

I think I've made up my mind to go with sd rims, I like them the best, so if anyone sees a good deal on a set please let me know! I'll be searching in the meantime

Got it figured out, my local tire place is gonna install my tires for $1234 tomorrow. I'm keeping the 20' rims just went with a more common (slimmer) tire size, MUCH cheaper than what is on there right now. The current tires are to much for the truck anyway without a lift kit, IMO.
