Warranty Plate information backfill
I've figured out BODY is 81B (custom cab), COLOR is F (light blue), WB is 129 (8' bed), MODEL is F100, guessing MAX GVW is 5000, Guessing CERT NET HP is 172, guessing RPM is 4000. It's a 3-speed manual, and have seen references to TRANS code of "C" -- is this right? No idea about AXLE code; guessing "28" (3.73 ratio) is likely? no Idea about DSO. Truck spent much of its early life in Raleigh NC; what would be a reasonable DSO for that area? Also, what's likely for interior upholstry (what is code, and where would this number go?) [original seat is long-gone].
=> any suggestions for the missing data and corrections to my guesses?
=> is Marti Auto a good source for the new plate?

But Marti has no records for 1966 or earlier FoMoCo vehicles, all he has is 1967/79 records....which means you will have to provide the codes.
The following codes are from the '64/72 Ford truck parts catalog. The sequence is based on the illustrated facsimile of the 1966/69 Warranty Plate:
First line: F10YN832489
Second line: W.B. 129 / COLOR F / MODEL F100 / BODY B81 or D81 / TRANS C / AXLE 09 [9" 3.73-1 w/o Limited Slip] (28 = F350 Dana 70 4.56-1).
Third line: MAX. G.V.W. LBS 05000 / CERT. NET H.P. 172 / R.P.M. 4000 / DSO 22
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BODY code related to type/color of seat material, Standard or Custom Cab or Ranger (bucket seats).
Blue exterior, seat could have been either blue or beige. Following codes begin w/a letter: Custom Cab.
B81 B = Medium Blue Crush Vinyl & Medium Blue Cody Pattern Woven Plastic / 81 = 81B Custom Cab.
D81 D = Medium Beige Crush Vinyl & Medium Beige Cody Pattern Woven Plastic / 81 = 81B Custom Cab.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DSO = Ford District Sales Office the truck was originally ordered from.
22 = Charlotte NC
1963 was the only year that just the cabs body style (no upholstery) was listed on the Warranty Plate. 1963 only: 66A Uni standard cab / 66B Uni custom cab / 81A standard cab / 81B custom cab
That's exactly the information I was looking for.
It'll be nice to give the truck back its identity...and the next step towards getting this project closer to getting back on the road.
