Yesterday I just got finished doing brakes and hub/axle seals on my Excursion when the wife came outside and took one look at her 2000 Expedition and exclaimed "what happened to my car"? I went over to where she was and what to my suprise....someone stole her care and left an identical one but with the rear body sitting on the tires! It looked as if it had been chopped, but only in the rear. I knew something had to have happened to the air ride system. So today I went out and started it up, after a few minutes the bags filled and the car looked normal. It held for about 2-3 hours then the driver side sank first, followed by the passenger side some time later.
Any ideas or recommendations on how to troubleshoot this system?????
get a bottle of soapy water and start spraying stuff?
at least you would be able to see bubbles where you have leaks....then you would know where to start w/the new parts.
Have you thought about swapping the air bags for reg springs?

Not really, what would be the benefit over repairing whatever I find? I'm open to the idea just unless I do the front bags also I would still have to maintain the compressor. There are bags up front also right?

If it has 4 corner air the front is air shocks, not bags like the rear.
I suggest that you verify rear only or 4 corner air suspension and get back with an answer.
