Does anyone have the part number for the rear bumper bracket to fit a '65 F100 styleside? Not for the step bumper, but for the one that matches the front bumper. I'd like to see if there's an interchange for it.
These brackets (4 pieces) are only available in the Junk Yard. You will discover that most of the Junk Yard brackets are either cut and welded for trailer hitches or long gone. New bolts are available as are the bumpers. I find these brackets every once in a while and always get them for FTE people. Check the classifieds or shoot me an e-mail.
I've been told that the brackets for the factory styleside bumper are different from the more common aftermarket styleside step bumper. Is this right? I have spotted some 2-piece per side brackets in the junkyard used for step bumpers, but they look like they wouldn't work, since there is no L-shaped piece to bolt the bumper to. These are just two flat pieces that look to be adjustable.
We have Step bumpers, Flare Side bumpers and Style Side bumpers on these old Fords. Step bumpers are heavy, huge, usually painted and have an intergral hitch, and they are really ugly. Flare Side bumpers are small made of formed channel steel and are held on by four smallish brackets. Flare Side bumpers will only work on Flare Side beds. Shevviee calles these beds step side, not to be confused with step bumpers. Style Side bumpers are car type and very similiar to the front bumpers found on 61-72 pickups and may be chrome or painted. These bumpers require the four piece, unique, and not available anywhere aftermarket, brackets. These brackets are fairly common around the South but are usually cut, bent or welded up to attach a hitch. So if you find a set grab them and if you need a set check the classifieds or shoot me an e-mail
