hi,normally over in the old diesel parts of the forum, now im fixing my mothers rig.
it's 2000 expedition with the 5.4l engine and it has a water leak. the leak comes from the pipe on the front of the moter that crosses from one head to the other, on the opposite end from the thermostat.
i have the alternator off and have removed all the bolts i can find(top and bottom) from both ends of the pipe. it is now loose.. but its still stuck on the end that has the leak.
im wondering if any of you have pictures of the pipe removed? so i can see what im missing. or can describe it to me?
i allready have gaskets from ford i just need the danm thing apart...
If you're talking about the aluminum part on the intake manifold, check the link and look at the pic of the underside. It appears to have bolts possibly holding the part to the manifold which means you probably have to remove the intake. This is a Dorman replacement, the Motorcraft design may be different. Motorcraft p/n is 9424. Dorman Products - 615-188
well, it came off. it broke the hole for an upside down bolt that isn't reachable without removing the intake.
im too poor for a new intake, so here goes the JB weld
