I am looking for a cb radio antenna. I prefer a bolt-on that is about 3-5 ft long. I looked everywhere but I can't find the right one. I don't want one of those sissy looking ones from the radio shack with magnetic base. Can you recommend any store around L.A. area or online store where I can find CB antennas for a good price? Thanks.
i have the 4 ft dual whips from radio shack, they mount on the mirrors but i have mine on the front of my toolbox, check my gallery to see how they look, i think they work pretty good.
I know you said you don't want a mag mount, but if you are seriously into cb radio, I reccomend the Wilson 1000. I'm not to sure, but all I have seen are mag mounts for the Wilson 1000. It is one of the better antenna's though...Jay
If you are close to an interstate go to a Truck Stop they carry all kinds of antennas. I run dual flex antennas on my mirrors so they will give. You can look in my gallery and see how they are mounted.
get a wilson. ..and dual antennas won't do squat on a pickup. they need at least 8 feet between them. ..and don't mount them on a tool box unless you ground your box. the 2 bolts holding it isn't enough and they didn't scrape the paint from under the box. the best, if you're serious, is a wilson roof mount. ..the mirrors aren't always grounded so you'll need to see if it is.. then you'll have to get a ground plane antenna system. ..check firestik's website.. they've got a bunch of mounts.. ..and screw radio shak.

Yep, I agree about mounting to the tool box if it's not grounded. But the duals not working on a pickup.... Even on a tractor trailer you'd be hard pressed to get 8' between the duals. I'm running duals on my truck it it works great.

from mirror mount to mirror mount i'm sure there's 8'. ..and dual antennas don't harm anything, but they don't add anything either.. ..maybe if you were towing something.. ..like a rig does.. ..they're just so you don't loose recieve/transmission while going around a curve and the trailing<whatever> gets between you and the other radio.
I just got a k30- mag mount , made by k40 from these guys. http://www.rfwiz.com/
They seem to be cheap and my order was handled 100% professionally and quick.
go to ebay.com and do a search for cb or cb antenna. You will get a lot of hits for firestick antennas. I have a cheap radio shack one my self but it gets the job done. Also definetly go to truck stop if you can.
Radio shack does sell one good antenna. Its a 52" steel whip its a big sucker.you gotta ask them for it and they go in the back and get it for you.i got a few connectors for it and bolted it to my bumper.looks very cool and its real big best cb antenna i ever used and i used them all from truck stop antennas etc, been in cb radio since the late 70s.peace
