Fuel Filters Changed by Dealership now Loud Groan/Sing When Key Is Turned On
2011 F250 6.7 Had the fuel filters changed by the dealer today. No noticeable sounds when I left the dealership, & no fuel stops on the way home (120 miles one way). When I got home, before shutting off the truck, I heard a loud groaning/singing from inside the truck. With the truck still running, I get out, & the groaning/singing is very pronounced....never heard this before & appears to be emminating from the fuel filter undeneath the truck. I turned the truck off, then turned the key back to the position that the fuel pump turns on, and wow, the pump is very loud. Definitely something going on because when I turn the key for the pump to turn on but not start the truck, I can feel the vibrations of the pump working from inside the truck and when listening from underneath the truck, it is very loud. Before today, the truck never made this noise and never heard the pump before.
Maybe sucking air? Ensure the yellow drain valve is fully closed. May also want to check that the filter housing is fully seated by backing off (CCW) a 1/4 turn then clockwise until you feel the stop. That 120 mile drive is a long ways to go if it's something that simple.

Thanks for the replies gents!!!! Headed back to the dealer tomorrow to investigate. Hopefully it's something simple.
Thanks for the repiles!!! Have a great evening & a great tomorrow!!
I have a video of the noise mine makes but don't know how to post it here.... Any help?
The best way is youtube then copy the URL here.
You can make the youtube video unlisted if you want, that way only those with the URL can see it and it doesn't show up in the public youtube world.
just changed my fuel filters and now my pump on the truck rail under the door is loud enough to hear it from inside , never heard it before from inside
is this normal , meaning with a brand new clean filter is it louder ?
I also noticed it seemed hard to get it primed .. but truck is running fine

How was it hard to get primed??
Mine has always gone easy, cycle the key and it starts right up normally. (same sounds)
ok fixed, I went and checked filter , I got 1 more full turn.. so it was loose
FYI if you here this noise your filter may not have been tighten enough
first time on this motor and I did not want to over tighten it

Just fyi, you can't over tighten the cover. It hits a positive stop.
