OK, I just replaced the entire Exhaust on my 92 Bronco. I also put in a new Bosch O2 sensor when I did this. I pretty much used the Walker exhaust components to replace everything from the new Y-Pipe to the Tail Pipe. I also replaced the catalytic converter with a new 3 way converter with the air intake tube so I could keep it as close to OEM style other than the 2 cat system that was on it. Now I've only got less than about 100 miles on this system but I've noticed a heavy sulfur smell when driving it. Is this just the system getting recalibrated? Should I have gone with a Delco type O2 sensor or whatever the brand is that people say run better?
"Rotten eggs" is from sulphur in the gas primarily. The cat will make the smell worse due to the reactions in it. (short, vague version). An over-rich condition will make it worse.
Try switching brands of fuel. Also, don't use higher than necessary octane level...too much octane may induce incomplete combustion, due to the higher flash point, from what I've read.
I've heard that the Bosch brand O2 Sensor in these Broncos could be problematic. I cannot recall though if they have been blamed for allowing the mixture to run too rich or too lean though. There was another brand I cannot remember that some people say is better. I got the Bosch because that's what was on it from the factory.
