Broken GP in the head, Ouch! any tips?

So, like the title says..... A routine glow plug job that takes an hour went bad....

7 of the 8 came out no problem, but number 8 left everything but the shell in the hole.

I have removed the injector, rocker arms and push rods. I have soaked the GP in PB blaster, wiggled it, tapped on it, etc. I talked to Cale at Tyrant Diesel earlier, and he gave me some helpful tips, just wondered if you all had any other tricks.

I so do not want to have to pull the head

Thanks,

I was wondering if that's what busted the window. I've heard of lots of people trying that. Haven't heard of any success with it, but I'd try it too if I were in that spot.

I guess if all else fails you could always drill it out / knock it down in the cylinder and remove the injector cup to suck out the pieces. (roll the cylinder up near the top first)

I bumped over the engine when I lost a glowplug while replacing them in my F250 and I got the plug to eject. I was so relieved.

I've seen objects jump in front of flying tools before. Mostly they seem to be those one in a million shots that you couldn't do again if you tried, but I've learned to at least look where I'm throwing when I get really frustrated now.

Yep'$90.00 in GP's cost $400.00'after the window. I wasn't shooting for the window but the oil and grease on my hands had other plans

Got it out!!!!!! I can sleep better now. thanks for helping me out!

Tomorrow it will go back together first thing, cause I have only got 6 more trucks to work on tomorrow.

I haven't been out here much lately, and I miss it, but fixing 6.0Ls doesn't leave much time for anything else.

Yea, I was getting worried that I might have to pull the head, and given the circumstances, that wouldn't pay very well..... and I needed it done and out of here so I can get to the others that are waiting in line. I was so relieved when it came out.

OT, I am so loving my Tuned Stage 1 truck, I hung with a 7.3L the other night that was empty, and I was pulling 9k. Good times
