Arrow 1984 F-150 inline6 4.9L, Idles fine until put into gear

Im trying to figure out what's wrong with my 1984 f-150, I just did a motor swap, I've changed out all kinda parts as well and finally got it running right. I drove it for about a week and was on my way home from work, stopped and got gas, got 2 or 3 miles up the road, and it started to spit and sputter like it was running out of gas, Although I know it has plenty of fuel. I checked the timing, I put a new fuel pump on, new fuel filter, also replaced the carb, and cleaned the injector and it still acts this way driving. It will Idle fine, you would never know anything was wrong with it when it idles, then you put it in gear and push the gas pedal and its like it just isn't getting fuel. im stumped. any suggestions? hat could cause it to act like this?

Welcome to the forum, Jackedupford!

Where are you located? Someone near might be able to help. You stated that you have swapped the engine... is it still computer controlled?

You said it started acting up just after the fill up... bad gas?

Hey 1986f150six, Im am in Rockmart, GA. I thought bad gas too, but it was from QT, and it still wont run in gear if i pour good gas into the carb directly. I've checked all the fuel problems I would know to check and everything looks fine. i have the older model carb with a electric choke. Could the injector just be bad inside the carb? If so, Is it possible just to replace the injector?

Welcome to FTE, jacked-up....

You still haven't answered the question - is it still computer controlled? IOW has a DS II swap been done to it?

OK; since it's computer-controlled, ask the computer what it thinks is happening.

Im sorry, It is not still computer controlled. What next? I had someone say something about an accelerator pump? Would that cause it to act this way?
