I am sure this is on another thread somewhere but there is alot of them to read. Is there any way to shut this thing off. I do alot of stop and start work where I am in and out of the pickup. I know that hooking the seat belt and putting it behing you will shut the thing up. But is there any other way to bypass this completely. I unplugged the connector under the seat but then the srs light stays on all the time.
Exactly. refer to the owners manual but If I recall the procedure is something like key on the press the fuel pedal then latch/unlatch the seat belt rapidly or something like that.
Get that manual right in front of you to follow along. I had to run thru the sequence a couple of times to be fast enough to do it.
Vehicle in Park.
All doors closed.
Turn key ON (DO NOT START)
Wait for seat belt light to go out (a minute or so)
Buckle and unbuckle the seatbelt three times ending with it unbuckled.
Turn headlights on, then off.
Buckle and unbuckle the seatbelt three times ending with it unbuckled.
The seatbelt light will illuminate solid for 3 seconds.
Wait for light to go out.
Buckle and unbuckle the seatbelt once.
Horn will chirp.
Switch key to OFF.
Horn will chirp.
Done.
I know this works at least up to '04.
For the '08:
DO NOT SWITCH HEADLIGHTS ON/OFF
Follow the above, but buckle/unbuckle 9 times.
Seatbelt light will illuminate.
Wait for light to go out.
Buckle/unbuckle once ending with unbuckled.
Seatbelt light will flash.
Nice work! I was going too fast at first but the 9 times worked on my 08’ F350 SD. Thank you!

This worked! I was going too fast at first but got it the second time. 2008 F350 Super Duty 6.3 with fire!
Wow! Welcome Rusty. You have revived a 9 year old thread. But it is exactly what you needed, so good for you! I really loved my '08 Lariat. But it is long gone.
For what it’s worth, it will stop chiming on its own after about four times.
I plow with my 2011 F350 and leave the seatbelt off. Over about a five minute period (not sure exactly) it will give me the warning chimes maybe four times (each time more “urgent”) and then stop for the rest of the time.
So.....you don’t have to do anything if you have the patience to wait for it to stop each time.
I'm not sure about an 08 but on my 06 the sequence to turn off the chime didn't work. I ended up just unplugging the chime connector from under the seat and now no chime.
