Wheels for my 82 Stepside
Found a deal on some '86 Mustang rims and tires. The bolt pattern is good but I'm wondering if the 17x8 +45 offset is gonna fit, interfere with front suspension. Any comments?

If you have a 5 on 4.5" Bp you'll need 2-2.5" spacers to get everything to clear
These are off of a 2005 Mustang, 17x8 with ~6" BS. They are pictured without spacers and they hit everything.
To my knowledge there was never a 17" wheel option on an '86 Mustang nor were the 5 lug pattern. They are more then likely aftermarket or late model wheels and someone did a 5 lug conversion on the mustang.

I'm just looking for cheap rubber to get me thru the winter.
Wheels and tires saves $ mount and balance. Haven't seen many used 15" in my neighborhood.
The CL posting was in my budget. With spacers, now I'm not sure...

That's what I thought until I bought some 5x5.5's and found out they didn't fit!
Apparently, specifics count:
1/2 TON F-100 (4X2) POWER BRAKES
80-85
15 X 6
5X114.3 (5x4.5)
1/2-RH

Just to settle my curiosity, what is the GVWR on your F100? Mine is 5050Lbs and I have the truck bolt pattern, I *think* that if your GVWR is under 4700lbs you get the car bolt pattern.
Edit: Nevermind, a quick search basically answered my question. It depends both on the GVWR and whether or not they have power brakes.

When I had my 77 F250 I did a little reading, and it looks likes there were literally hundreds of variations on what you could get on your Ford truck. I imagine at least some of that carried over into the 80's.

From '80 - '82 F100, 4700# GVRW and POWER Brakes.
This combo netted 5 on 4.5" BP
The wheels in my sig are from a 2000/2001 Explorer or Ranger (not sure as they came on both), they bolted right on and the hubs are the correct diameter to remain "hub-centric".
Any of the later model Explorer / Ranger wheels should fit without modification. Some of the earlier ones had a smaller hub diameter that won't clear your front hubs.
Edit for better pic of the wheels:
Oh yeah..
Jeep Wrangler wheels won't clear the hubs
Jeep Liberty Wheels won't clear the hubs
Jeep Cherokee Wheels won't clear the hubs
"Old" Mustang wheels wont clear hubs

'05 - Present Mustang wheels will clear but have even deeper backspacing (~5.5 - 6.125") and will need spacers

Wheels off of Dodge trucks will also fit. I have some either 80s or 90s 15x8s on my truck currently, and they fit without problems. I think wheels from trucks up to the 2000s will fit, since I've seen wheels that new on older dodge trucks that have the 5x5.5" BP. I think they come in up to 20" sizes, not sure though.
