The frames are different too. Also suspension has a lot to do with the plow frames. Different clearances are also required for various spring types/bodies.
I've been looking at used plows recently and can say that a 99-04, 05-08 and 09-11 are not the same for Meyer and Western Plows.
Some plow mounts wedge between the leaf spring and the frame, which won't be available on a 05 and newer. Meyer makes a different mount for the 09 and newer, but I don't know why.
I would say for certain a 99-04 mount will not typically work on a 05 or newer, but it depends on the plow mount and where it bolts to.
I think fisher part numbers for 99-early 04 is 7159-2 and late 04-07 is 7176 there may be an adaptor kit from fisher but im not really sure.Hope this helps
