I need to know if anyone can tell me how to remove the locking pin from the steering colum without pulling the steering wheel and steering shaft.
Someone tried to steal the truck this winter when I had it stored and they jammed up the key lock so I cannot get a key in to turn the lock.
There should be a set screw holding the lock cylinder in. It's right behind the key entry on the backside. Once that is removed you can pull the lock cylinder out. Then you can slide the locking pin up and down with a screwdriver.
If the lock is like the 42-47 lock, there is a pressed in pin in the bottom center of the lock cylinder. I had the same problem in 2 trucks. Drill out the pin about 1/4"deep with a 1/4 drill and the lock cylinder should be able to be pulled out with a sheet metal screw driven into the key hole.
