Whelen Installed 4 White Strobes...Only got two done

I took off the front grill and removed the lights. Cut out the holes in the reflectors. They fit fine. The problem was I did not use a vaccum while cutting the first holes, Now everything inside is dusty. I tried blowing it out,,looks better but not perfect, On the second, drivers side I held a shop Vaccum next to the dremel and it worked alot better. Going to remove them again and give them a bath and let them dry out fully,...but these will work for now. They look awesome. They will come in handy while serving papers.

Anyway,,,if I knoew how to post a video I;d do it,..I only have the fronts done, though. The wiring was crazy...went through firewall and wired to upfitter switch 1. I love it!!

I did the same thing, the double wall of the light assembly is what got me and I have a fair amount of trash stuck in the bottom of the light. The 08 light was a bit easier.

In the rear I found that there is JUST enough room on the clear reverse light lens to get the flash bulb in there.

I put my strobe flashers into the fog lights for the front and they fit perfectly. I used a hole saw to minimize the debris. My strobes are not whelen, so I am not sure about the size of your bulbs, but I don't think I can fit mine into the reverse lens for the rear... I used the brake light lens. The rears, don't flash as bright as I would like as a result Maybe I will try the clear lens anyway.

You need red strobes if you have a red lens. I never would have believed it until I saw a demonstration showing the difference between a red strobe and white strobe version of the same bulb used in the same red housing.

I opted to not put anything in the front housings and went with a LED setup in the grill.

I was concerned of condensation in the housing as well as having to deal with the double wall of the light and the shavings in the lense. (I had issues on a previous truck).

So I sold my strobes and put LEDS in the grill and just finished my LED hideaways in the backup lights. (white)

I had ordered red, but they sent white, and so I put them there, but really wanted them in the red housings. I decided to not send them back because of the cost for shipping both ways.

I also had seem a demo about red in red, and was shocked at the difference.

I am preparing to put some AMBER leds in the the cargo light spot and set those to a rapid LED flasher to function as high mount strobes and will also be putting LEDs in the mirrors and wiring them to the same flasher. I had seen this done on another vehicle and it looks awesome and increased visibility significantly.
