i bought a 351w out of a 72 galixie. on the pass. side exhaust manifold there's a cover that looks like a hose should be connected? the hose would route to the front.
what is this? and i'm assuming since its a carb and going in a 64 f100 i just need to hook up gas, coil, starter, and radiator to run. right?
just don't want to hurt the engine but its my first go around so i'd like to know. thanks and sorry i didn't use the search, didn't know what to search for.
There should be a hose to the air cleaner to bring heated air when the engine is cold. Connects to the stock breather, a vacuum pot controls the damper inside.
Works with the choke to make the vehicle drive better until the engine is up to temp. If you've got the stock breather it's definitely worth keeping intact.
Its just that piece around the manifold then the carb. No air cleaner, no hose. so ill just have to work the choke till i get the 4 barrel with the auto choke?
