I have 96 Bronco with a 5.0 302 in it. I have a vacuum line coming out of the throttle body (not the EGR) on the left side when you are looking head on at the engine bay. I have no idea where this goes as the line has rotten away. Also there is a rectangular canister that mounts to the side of the battery tray that I need to see were the lines go. I have looked at the diagram sticker on the hood but only see the EGR vacuum on the throttle body. Does anyone have any pictures that could help me out please. this thing has been off the road for 4 years and was my beater/offroader. I would really like to get it back into shape.
thanks.
Do you have a picture of it? The throttle body has a large line meant for coolant to resist icing in cold weather. Many people bypass it when changing coolant lines, it's very common.
No , i dont currently have a pic. I think I have found part of the answer thanks to my local Ford parts department. It looks like it is part of the Fuel vapor canister. The throttle nipple i am referring to goes to the back Vapor Canister Purge Valve and the other line on the Vapor Canister Purge Valve goes to the vapor canister. But where does the other line on the canister go? After I find this out, Im all set.
Fuel tank. The canister absorbs vapors from the fuel tank. The purge valve lets them in the engine when the PCM (computer) determines it is the appropriate time.
