Can someone tell me what the name of the sensor or whatever it is that on a stock 5.0 truck is... Its right by the throttle body and has a vacuum port with a line that goes into the throttle body.. What is it and what's it do?
Fuel vapors trapped in the sealed fuel tank are vented through the orificed vapor valve assembly in the top of the tank. The vapors leave the valve assembly through a single vapor line and continue to the carbon canister (located in the engine compartment or along the frame rail) for storage until they are purged to the engine for burning.
Canister Purging
Purging the carbon canister removes the fuel vapor stored in the carbon canister. With an EEC controlled EVAP system, the flow of vapors from the canister to the engine is controlled by a Canister Purge (CANP) solenoid, Dual Canister Purge (CANP) solenoids or Vapor Management Valve (VMV) . Purging occurs when the engine is at operating temperature and off idle.
What are te effects if it isn't hooked up? Mine is plugged in but no vacuum line on it.. I have an aftermarket throttle body so Idk where to run the line
You could run the vacuum line from the vacuum ports on top of the upper intake manifold.
If you park it inside maybe gas fumes inside the building.
Pressure buildup in the fuel tanks?
The one on my truck has one vacuum port of it not a t like pictured.. I also have an aftermarket intake and the vacuum ports that aren't being used and are capped are to big
But that sensor that in front of the egr is what I'm talking bout.. When my truck was stock it had a hose from the vacuum port that ran into the throttle body right in between it
Pic didn't load... Ok on the stock twin throttle body the is a vacuum port in between the two throttle blades.. The hose coming off it runs to the thing I'm taking about
