Ok I just got back from spending a week in the Great Smokies and I'm getting that "I would love to live out there" feeling. What kind of machinist jobs might be had east of Cookeville these days?
The only job opening east of Cookeville that I know of that they seem unable to fill is for Athletic Director up at UT. I for one hope that a Ford Truck man gets the job. Good luck to you.
There is going to be a new plant in Morristown being built that will make oil or something out of Coal, the building it being built soon, there use to be a R/C flying club on the property, I use to be a member of that club, but anyhow, they are going to put 400 + people to work, I know there are severel jobs for Mech Drafters, and Autocadd users, but you need a 2 to 4 year degree, I only have the class from the Tennessee Tech Center.

Reason: old and can't spell, also fingers don't hit the keys I tell them too
Memphis is getting an Electrolux factory that is relocating from Canada. Mitsubishi is building a plant that is making industrial electronic equipment. And another company that bought what was left of the old Kimberly Clarke factory is going to expand to hire about another 400 (KC had over 3000 in its prime). But since my "medical implant" maker is in the begining stages of sending product to China, I would like to leave this hole in the ground. I'm sure Memphis has the highest unemployment most of the time so these companies are going to lowball.

I tried to work with AutoCad, but I just couldn't hack it. Just give me Ai with Cad Tool plugin and I'm happy.

I found Autocadd and Inventor a lot easier to use then the other programs, I just thinks it's bad that Autocadd makes you re-buy their program each year.
