Frame/Steering

Ok, got a question. I have a 1990 F250, Supercab, LWB, 4x4, with a 6" Lift. I went to get an alignment today and the shop told me that I had a frame problem and they preferred I get it fixed before they do the alignment. On the driver's side, the frame has some flex when you turn the wheels from side to side. It is only on the driver's side. The shop said this was an issue and needed to be addressed ASAP. I called one of the local four wheel drive shops in town and they said they would look at it tomorrow, they have had F250's come in, in the past with cracks in the frame around the gearbox. I looked myself, can't find any cracks. Now, my question is this. Should I fool with the body shop, etc? Or just take it to another alignment shop because this is normal?

I have a 1977 F150, 1985 F150 and a 1984 Bronco. They are all 4x4s and I know the frames flex on all of them, especially when doing some hardcore trail riding or rock climbing. But never notice any of them flexing with the gearbox.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

get a second opinion from a good shop... You might also want to post this in the 4x4 off road section and see what they say. They would be better at diagnosis for lifted trucks!
