Brake Light Issues

On my 1993 F-250 w/ 7.3L. About a month ago my brake lights wouldn't come on unless I pressed really hard on the brakes but now they wont come on at all no matter what I do. Turn signals still work and parking lights still work. I have no idea what this problem can be and I need all advice from simple to complex please.

have you checked the basics like wiring for fulty connections, fuses, relays, could be a bad relay and/or wire or possibly the switch (i think?) if any for the break/light connection may be bad, thats what i would look at first is relays and wiring then fuses

Check the brake light switch mounted above the brake arm under the dash. Check the ground wire for the rear light fixtures too.

yep, just checked my haynes book (yes and there should also be a switch which i was refering to in my first post) connected to the break pedal that you should check first along with any relays/wires, if that switch is bad you could see these type of issues (its 00:47 in the morning so im tired guys)

can you take a pic of the wires in question, im not 100% sure as i have a '95 not a '97 but generaly the wires you want to test are red and black red=hot and black=ground, there may be other wires that may be involved, so others should hopefully chime in that may have more knowledge

The switch can be as pretty as it was the day it was made, what you are not seeing is the brunt contacts inside...

Does your cruise control shut off when you tap the brake??? If it doesnt, check the brake light fuse. If the fuse is OK the brake light switch is most likely shot.

Well everything is working now. It was a bad connector that went to the Brake switch. Thank you everyone for your help
