351w in a 68 F250

I'm replacing my FE with a 351w. The guy that provided the 351 was kind of vague on what the donor vehicle was. From what I can gather, it was 89 van of unknown size. So my question is, will this oil pan work with my 68 f250 or do I need to find one from some other vehicle?

My suggestion is to get factory 302 engine mounts from a 69, then set it in there to check clearance, if you need more clearance find a 351 swap pan for a fox body mustang or a factory pan from an 80s model Crown Vic with a 351w in it, you will also need the pickup as well, these pans will give a little more clearance over the crossmember.

To me the rear would be the problem area as it looks like it could just barely hit your steering cross shaft at some point in the suspensions articulation. If it does do that at all.

On my FE I have about 8 inches from the crank centerline to the bottom of the pan, and that still leaves me just over an inch.

So you probily could raise your engine up a bit to compensate fot what look likes a deeper rear pan. A C6 would still leave you about 1.5-2 inches to move up if you really wanted to go that way.

I am figuering that your not buying the correct stands so mods are in order.

Correction on my earlier post, I had a 68 F100 that was a special order 302 truck, when it quit on me we replaced it with a 351 from an 80 something truck but I believe we used a pan from a 70s model car, because it had a front sump, had a lil brainfart. I'm pretty sure the dual sump pan will hit the steering, unless it is 4wd, then you should be OK, and you will want the dual sump so you don't starve it for oil just in case you go up a steep hill.

I have the proper stands. The truck is two wheel drive. I was just trying to find a definitive answer without pulling the current engine and looking for an oil pan that I may not need.
