I aquired a 76 f600 ex uhaul truck in some trading. I planned on mounting a hiab crane behind the cab to load logs with for my tree service. I was looking at tires and it appears the 800 22.5 that the truck wears now is unavailable. Anyone have a fairly reasonable solution to this problem.
If it is gonna cost a boatload I will prob trade it off. The truck has the 330 4 speed and single speed rear the gvr is 17000. I am afraid I could easily go overweight. I dont want DOT problems.
I would rather have a C 800/8000 with diesel and air brakes. Did any come with a 9 or 13 speed or are they all 5x2
There were three widths of 22.5" wheels. They were 5.25", 6.00", and 6.75". The 6.00" was spec'd for the 8-22.5" tires. The narrowest tire available today is 9R22.5". I know of guys who have used the 9R22.5s even on the 5.25s. If you get the metric low profile styles, make sure you don't go too wide. Your dealer will have the spec's, I don't find what the 255/70 is spec'd for in my references. Stu
