1975 ford C600 find

I just pulled home a 1975 C600 that I picked up for 450 bucks. this truck had been sitting for 10 years but is in pretty fair condition.

I will post pictures latter when i get them downloaded.

I was wondering if there is a source for aftermarket restoration parts? mostly window seals and such.

Here is the vin number if anyone knows how to decode it ????
C61EVW06421

I was told it has a 390 engine but am unsure of that. it has no bed and has only a ball for pulling the large goose neck trailers. it also has the standard amount of mouse poop in the cab

one wheel was stuck on the brake drums so we had to wrap a chain aroun the inside between the duals and hook the chain to the rim web. kind of like spooling a cable on a winch drum. This gives a good mechanical advantage to develop the best torque and when we pulled on it with the truck it came loose. I had fabbed an adapter to bolt on to the front bumber mounts that accepted a tow bar I already had. After getting the one wheel unstuck my 89 f250 with a 460 pulled it with ease. we still only went 35-40 mph home as we are very unsure of the ten plus year old tires and I am pretty sure state law restricts you to 45 mph on a flat tow like that on a comecial vehicle.

After getting it home my brother and I had to take a shower (no not together sickos lol) we pulled this truck out of the missouri weed fields and were covered with weed pollen. we were itching from every angle but man this truck was worth it lol.

Welcome to FTE

C61 = C600 (gas).

E = 361 2V FT engine.

V = Kentucky Truck Assembly Plant.

W06421 = 1975.

If you post all the codes from the Warranty Plate, all can be decoded.

I don't know if anyone is reproducing w/strips for the C Series, but the basic design was built 1957/87, so NOS (New Old Stock) parts can prolly be found.

Make up a list of what you want, post it here, I'll take a look-see, post the results.

codes

Thanks numberdummy.

Sounds like its a 361 and not a 390 like the guy told me. It may be a 390 but it sounds like it would be a transplant.

Where would I find the warranty tag?

Also I was told by a friend of mine that on the door tag it says TYPE C612 which he says is a low prfile cab. he says the cab is lower than a regular model for low clearance applications. I dont know if this is true or if he is full of it lol.

thanks

On the left door face below the latch or on the inside of the glovebox door.

FT engines...at first glance, look the same as FE engines. Sellers usually have no clue inre to FT engines, so to them, it's a 390.

truck

I plan on cleaning her up and putting it into service in my operation. This truck really wont take much to make it servicable. In a way it will be a restore but not complete restore. just enough to clean her up and make her servicable. a little cleaning and body work and some paint.

This ol girl still has lots to give and should be a great truck.

I don't have the number handy, do not know if the info for your truck is available from FoMoCo.

The 1967/79 basic build sheet info is available from FoMoCo, sorta...

In the late 1980's, FoMoCo was planning to THROW AWAY all the data that pertained to all 1967/79 vehicles. Kevin Marti, a Mustang "nut" in Phoenix AZ found out, and got ALL of it.

When you order a build sheet from FoMoCo for any 1967/79 vehicle, it takes 4-12 weeks to receive it, cuz FoMoCo has to get the info from Marti (martiauto.com).

Since Marti has all the data, all sorts of other info is available (copy of the original window sticker, rarity figures and etc etc), but there is a fee for Marti's services, which escalates depending on how much info you want.

This is known in the hobby as a Marti Report.
