diesal engines for 1987 f700
Does anybody know what diesal engines came in the 87 ford f700? What does swapping them consist of ?

It could be a Ford 6.6 or 7.8, a Cat 3208, or a Detroit 8.2.
Swapping them? You mean one to the other, or putting in a diesel where there was once a gasser?

I vote for the 6.6/7.8, or get the parts off a 94 & up to get a Cummins 5.9/8.3

will the fly wheel from the 370 bolt to the 6.6? Will the 5spd tranny hold up to the diesal tq? Can I search this swap info anywhere ?

No the flywheel will not bolt up the 5 speed tranny won't bolt up either.

It all depends on what you do yourself, and what deals you can find. There happens to be a 6.6 with an Allison auto on ebay for $1500. You could do it for much less than 8 grand. If you're paying a shop to do it, then it would be about 8.
