We go out to dinner last night with one of the wife's VP's. I drive my truck to his house as he wanted to see the tint I put on the front windows yesterday and we were going to take their car to the city. Get to his house and he tells me to park in the driveway (road is narrow in his nice **** neighborhood) so I park in his gigantic well lit driveway (3 bay garage). We go out to dinner and he gets a call from his son. I hear him speak hebrew (he is Israeli) and I see his wife put her head in her hands. I ask what is going on. He says my son may have "rubbed" against your bumper. I said "what, give me more detail". He said he did not know. I said you MAY want to call him back and find out. He calls him back and I see his wife's face turn white and head back in the hands again. He said he may have hit the bumper. Of course by this time I am ready to leave, pay the bill and get up and we leave to his house. Here is the "rub". The entire front end is chrome and you cannot miss it (obviously he didn't). Of course the damage could not just be to the door.
You should have seen me last night. On the way back he asked me to please not touch his kid we got next to the driveway and you could see the damage immediately. I cursed, jumped in the truck and left. I'm just now starting to recover.
It is not that it cannot be fixed, it is just such a bummer when it is a new vehicle. That and they never seem to get the match just right. I had a car fixed once and a few years later you could see where it was repaired because the paint didn't fade at the same rate as the factory finish. Stuck out like a sore thumb.
I'd be asking for a brand new door since you just bought the truck. Take it to the best place in town.
I am taking it to the best place around here and they are pretty good. A new door sounds nice. I will bring that up during the estimate. Do they have to replace the door if I ask for it? I am sure I can fight it.
I feel sorry for you. We take such pride in our trucks, we pay so much, and it hurts when something like this happens. Fortunately it is in a spot where the fix will be easy and cosmetic as opposed to something structural.
Rub!? That's not a rub!
A new door would be nice and then repair the back part of the cab that has a bit of paint damage.
Must have pulled in and hit it with the corner of his bumper (or backing out while turning).
It can be fixed and hopefully at no cost to you.
He backed into it and must not be able to drive for chit due to where I parked it. It will be no cost to me. Dad is paying and he cannot drive for chit either. You guys have me thinking about the door replacement.

Most likely it will be new as there are not any 2011's in the junk yard yet.
Just insist upon it. It is your right to have new skin.
Ouch that sucks.. i had some jerk dent my bumper in the parking lot where i work..and of course it was out of the camera's field of view....atleast you know who damaged your truck..
Thanks for the info. Insisting is a natural act for me LOL.
Is your wife making sure you don't T off her boss? Man, you have had some bad luck with this truck all the way around. I feel good things heading your way though!
