Question what guages should I get

I have a stock 2007 F250 Lariat Super duty 6.0L PSD 2WD that I use to pull a 14500 LB fiver. What gauges should I buy? I have heard that oil temp and water temp as well as trans oil temp. What ones in order of impotence? I will probably buy a Quad cluster for 4 gauges. Maybe from Glowshift. any suggestions would be appreciated.

ECT, EOT, EGT, Tranny

Have you given any thought to using a Edge Insight w/EGT probe? Soon to come with expandable for fuel pressure?

Edge Insight is a very good idea for price and the capability. Same with the new insights but not for the price.

I consider a fuel pressure gauge higher in importance than a trans temp gauge.

Since he's towing heavy we don't know if he's in an area of heat needing to keep an eye on the trans. Frankly I wouldn't go without either one as they're all important. I think a minimum of 4 gauges or an OBDII monitor will do nicely.
EGT, Trans, Fuel, and choice between Coolant or Oil temp

A ODBII gauge reader is a great item with the 6.0.
I went with scangaugeII, you'd have to add external
gauges for EGT & Fuel pressure. But, the ODBII has
so much great info it's hard to pass it up. PLus, it can read "some" codes and also clear some.

I'm planning on the F-650 dash mod (but the price just went up) to install any extra gauges as well as switches which the Ex doesn't have:

I agree. I put a fuel gauge in front of trans temp because his truck at least has a (crappy) trans temp gauge, whereas it has nothing at all for fuel pressure.

It might as well not have a TFT gauge really. It's beyond crappy. If you don't tow or do any kind of "hard driving"(pedal to the metal etc) then you could probably do without TFT as the TS is very stout left in stock form. Once you tune it, then all bets are off, make sure you have a gauge for it then.

Now with an OBD-II monitor you can pull from the TFT at the computer and that will give you far more reliable info then using the stock cluster to relay that information to you.

I wouldn't say that there is nothing at all for fuel pressure in one sense as you do have Fuel Rail Pressure( I do believe you can derive fuel psi that we look for mathmatically from this reading though). Now that isn't the straightforward fuel PSI that most of us look for, but I wouldn't say it has nothing at all with regard to fuel pressure.

Like you, I would do all of them(and have), however, if he had to choose just one I would go with EOT. Oil is a far more used consumable and one that we have in numerous threads mentioned that it's one of the most important consumables as well, with the exception of good quality fuel.

There is no fuel rail. Or do you mean ICP? How can you get fuel pressure from that?

I just got the Edge Insight from "http://www.vr-speed.com/" best price on internet & great to deal with, got the gauge, pod, adapter & expandable EGT probe for $534.00 usd delivered.
Then I ordered a rear view camara off ebay that plugs right into it for a back up monitor.

Oops, your right it's Fuel Pulse Width and Secondary Fuel Pump Monitor. Those are the only other two outside the fuel level sensors.

I will be towing Just under the GCWR of 23,000 Lbs My GCWR will be around 22,000 Lbs I winter in Arizona and Summer in Nevada when not traveling. I go to Texas Every Year To the Austin area. Usually go in the fall and spring about 3000 miles Round trip. I pick up the fiver today and will make a few small trips to check things out. I am still confused as to what gauges to get.
