No Start 03 6.0l.no injector buzz

Working on a no start truck.new fuel filters, good fuel pump.No codes present.Theres no "buzz"in koeo.I checked the ficm, which ive modded and im seeing 56 volts there.Unplugged the ICP,no change.Im wondering if this is leading toward cam sensor.

thought id add that there was a preexisting intermittent problem when loaded with lack of power and smoke. Then one morning the truck wouldnt fire.

Cam sensors are pretty reliable on these motors. It's not like a CPS on a 7.3. The wiring harness' can get chaffed/damaged. Also, there's usually a code that's present when they have a problem.

Without a buzz, I'd still suspect the FICM. Do you have a known good one you can swap into the truck? Are you sure you have HPO?

There's a great no start checklist in the tech folder.

yep went through the checklist.I hooked it up to auto enginuity and my injection rail pressure shot up to 1800psi when cranking.I unplugged the icp with no change.

Just because you have correct FICM voltage doesn't mean it isn't "fried". It can still have other problems. Have you rechecked the FICM plugs and pins for damage? Do you have smoke while cranking? Have you physically checked the fuel pressure?

I will get a little smoke when cranking of a long while. It will start to stutter.I cracked the lines feeding the heads 1 at a time and they were streaming.Could lower then 45psi fuel pressure really cause a no-start?I mean it was screaming out of the line.but no i didnt physically check fuel pressure.Scanner said it was running 99%

Have you done the "bubble test" to see if you're getting compression back into the secondary fuel filter? Are you getting FICM sync? 1800 cranking PSI seems WAY high to me. I rarely even get that running unless I'm running fairly hard. The truck usually only idles at around 6 or 7 hundred. Are you sure you're reading PSI and not something else?

I lost the injector buzz on mine also and had a no-start condition. I turned out to be the FICM. After I replaced it, the buzz was back loud and strong.

passed the bubble test.Im using auto enginuity.Today i rescanned and showed a CMP & CKP open circuits.codes p2614 and p2617.I know the FICM uses those for data.I have logic power. My main power physically tested is 56V koeo. The software shows it as 52V and it drops to 40V when cranking.I ran a forced buzz test and it failled miserably as suspected.I heard maybe 1 or 2 solenoids" click"once.Im wondering if this is a shoe in for ficm now?injection control pressure is 1900psi which may be a skewed sensor.

40v on the ficm is still a bad ficm. please refer back to post 9.
so far as 2614 and 2617 ignor them if the appear together. also to varify you do have them look at sync and ficm sync.

When my FICM went out all the volts were reading correctly, but I didn't get any buzz from the injectors and it wouldn't start. It would crank hard and fast, but that was it. After talking to Dave at Swamp's Diesel, I ordered the FICM and it started right up after installing it.
