6.7 Liter PowerStroke

I've got a question on the 6.7 Liter PowerStroke:How hard is to Bore & Stroke the 6.7 Liter (406 cu. in.) PowerStroke to 427 cu. in. DOHC gas powered V8 engine

I just wanna know what happens when you compress gasoline to 18,000 psi and inject into a cylinder with a compression ratio of what?, 13:1?

Now I'm confused.

The 6.7L PSD is an OHV engine, and has nothing to do with the ancient 427.

It won't run! Gasoline is rated in terms of octane, which is by definition the resistance to knock. Fundamentally a diesel engine's combustion cycle is almost identical, but this is the normal way it runs instead of a dangerous event. Cetane is the exact opposite of octane, as it refers to how quickly it will light.

This is why when you read of stories of guys filling their diesel pickups with gas the truck stumbles and dies rather than taking off.

I dont even know how the people that are replying can even make sense of what the sentence is even asking.

Is this a riddle?

Ahh. Ok Bore and stroke the 6.7 to 427 cubic inches. I dont think 20 cubic inches will gain you much.

I dont know what a honing machine would do to the CGI block.

Wink 6.7 Liter PowerStroke

My Plan is Bore & Stroke the 6.7 Liter (406 cu. in.) PowerStroke to 427 cu. in. and convert the 6.7 Liter (406 cu. in.) PowerStroke to gasoline use for the DOHC 427 engine

It simply can't work like that for a number of reasons.

1. The Powerstroke is an OHV engine
2. Would need different crank and pistons. These things aren't available now and never will be.
3. This thing is HEAVY. Nearly 1,000 lbs for the engine alone; you do NOT want this in anything not built properly for the weight of a diesel.
4. And the list can go on...

I'm normally not one to say that something can't ever happen, but in this case it can't be done. This is really far outside the realm of possibility...

Why would you want to convert a diesel to a gas? What a waste of a marvelous engine!
