Hey Ed - what did you do, forget about Steve & I?
I don't remember if you're using the original frame or not, but we were able to get our title by using a form from the DMV, we traced the # off our frame to this form, had the paper notarized and received title in about 2 weeks.
BTW, there are some states out there a lot harder to get a title than here.

Thank you all so far but, I have tried all title places (from Alabama to Arizona) they require at least a vin#. I do not have a vin# that is why I posted that I need a vin#. Florida the best they could do was give me some packet for (an assembled from parts) but you to have receipts for chassis, cab, bed, etc.. I do not have those receipts because I traded a car for this body and chassis. I realize that there are vin#`s on the frame but some goof ball welded a frame support right were the vin# would be and there was no plate with numbers on the cab, so you see that is why I need a clean title or at least clean vin#. Thank you all again.
Edited to change from all cap's.

obviously, I dont want you to use MY vin---here is my 1934 truck vin with Xs inserted--------BB1814X264X78----------replace the Xs with numbers of your choice. like you pointed out, whats the chance of that number still existing? My truck appears to be an early 1935, dunno why the title says 34.

ok,i have one more question.which body number plate do i get?i have looked at MAC`S auto supply and all the body number plates have a prefix (48 ,68,78,and one has -LB- in the center).what do you think i should do?do i also stamp the numbers on the frame?where do i put the number plate (cowl, pillar, etc).let me know the location of yours please.i hope you can help me again.THANK YOU....

The body number is NOT the vin. In 34 the vin was the number stamped on the bellhousing and on the frame. Not to be rude but you dont seem to know anything about Old Fords. Do some research. The number plate and the patent plate go on the upper left of the firewall when facing it. You will see the holes. Go to Fordbarn.com, get some books, learn a little about Old Fords. You will like being a little more knowledgeable.

you are right i dont know about OLD FORDS that is why i ask.the only reason i got this cab is because it was given to me in a trade other wise i would not even bother with a FORD.that is why i put a CHEVY motor in it so i know when i drive it i will get to and from where i am going.why buy books is that not why this site and others like it are up to HELP each other?Well,i am very surprised at that response but you did help me alot so dont worry i will NOT BOTHER YOU OR ANY ONE ELSE ON THIS SITE...SEE YA!!FOR GOOD!!!!!!

Had an instructor once that told me "You don't know enough to ask questions" After learning more I realized what he meant. There is so much information out there you can learn faster by reading. Just knowing where to look is half the battle plus you need the reference material because there is just too much to remember. I'm always grateful just finding where to look. You can take the book with you to the wrecking yard too!

Well now, in my state they don't even take a look at the VINs on the vehicle itself, it's all about paper work. I guess if you just gave them a number and they didn't ask to look at the truck then you can get away with it. May go to a title office in another town and ask them about just making up a number and maybe tell them the situation, get away with. Thjust see what they check and what you can en you could go to yours and they would have no clue if you tricked them or anything. I'm sure these people in the title offices don't know squat about the right numbers for a '34.
Goodness, we shouldn't discriminate against Ford and Chevy, Dodge is the real enemy. Ford and Chevy are alsomst equal in qualitly, just not looks. Although working on chevys make me want to kill things and tear things apart. I feel like the increadible hulk throwing tools and curse words. How do they put them together? Magic? I heard that there are many bolts (ones I've used multiple u-joints and extensions to reach) that require drilling holes in the fenders just to reach. My dad tells me to go fix HIS chevy that I'm driving right now with a grin, an evil grin. It's treating me pretty well so far, but it's still ugly, or at least not my style.
