Fuel Injectors - Ford Ranger

Anyone know how to test the condition of fuel injectors while injectors are installed in truck and when injectors are in hand?

im not exactly sure, but i know if you are removing them, soak them in a cleaner, clean the cleaner off, make sure the screens are free of gunk, and replace the o-rings. There is a guy on e-bay that "rebuilds and test them", he may have some info if you contact him. If you are replacing them with performance ones, accel makes good ones...14lb/hr is what they reccomend for the 2.9L, if you go any larger you will have to re-program your computer.

You might just want to ship your injectors to these guys.

Thanks for the info. I am afraid to use this type of service because I am almost positive that some or all of the injectors would be unsalvageable. If I pay 80$ and they need to be replaced, that was 80$ I could of used toward new injectors. I believe mine to be in the worst possible shape.

I found metallic shavings in my fuel filter, which when turned upside down emptied black muddy fuel mixture. I have a hole in the gas tank in which I think is contributing to the delinquincy in the fuel system ultimately resulting in badly clogged injectors.

Basically I did not maintain my vehicle and now I am paying for it the hard way.
