header fitment question.

hey guys, i found a set of hedman headers (#89330) for a fair price, and started researching, everywhere says they fit 80-85 pickups. well i have a 78 150 with 351/c6/4x4, i was wondering if they would/ could fit, and what i would have problems clearing? thanks guys!!

You didn't state what engine they were for on the 80-85. If it's for a 351, probably not. If you have the original 351 it's a 351 modified, not a Windsor like the 80-85 would have.

80-85 still carried the modified motor, as does my 78. the headers are made to fit 1/2, 3/4t 4x4's and broncos of 80- 85 model years. all i could really find for differences in the trucks is frame width (32" for 73-78, and 38" for 80-96) and in 80 they changed to ttb instead of straight axle. i would imagine that my straight axle leaves more room then a ttb setup. but what do i know? with the headers having to be spread wider for the later model frame i doubt id have problems missing things like my p/s pump, starter, and such, but do you think id have problems with tires hitting or hitting with the trac bar? anything else i should watch for? THANKS!!
